Lohri is celebrated in northern Bharat and commemorates the passing of the winter solstice. Snapchat has developed the Happy Lohri lens to help users showcase their festive spirit and spread the joy that showcases the bonfire and its flames that signify the onset of the new season.
Pongal is predominantly celebrated in Tamil Nadu, and almost all throughout South Bharat. Dedicated to the sun god, it is a four-day harvest festival. To help Pongal celebrators share the warmth of this festival, Snapchat has developed the Happy Pongal lens that, in a traditional style, that showcases the marigold floral arrangement reminiscent of Pongal celebrations.
Makar Sankranti or the festival of kite flying is dedicated to God Surya and celebrated across India to welcome the new harvesting season. Snapchat has also developed a Makar Sakranti lens to help users celebrate this auspicious day and add happiness to the lives of their loved ones. The lenses show the colourful kites the day is known for.
