Swachhata Pakhawada being observed on Railways from 16.9.2020 to 30.9.2020. It started with administering swachhata pledge by Shri Sanjeev Mittal, General Manager Central Railway on 16.9.2020 followed by Tree plantation on 17.9.2020.
Today under the theme ‘Swachha Samwad’ organized various activities on Central Railway such as arranging rallies to encourage public on upkeep of trains, stations and railway premises. Also displayed awareness posters at stations, colonies, hospitals and other important railway premises. Obtained passengers’ feedback. Anti-littering penalty was also imposed on defaulters. While organizing these activities all protocols in view of Covid-19 were followed such as wearing masks, keeping social distance and sanitizing the premises etc.
About 4500 staff and passengers were involved in this ‘Swachh Samwad’ drive. The activities organized on all divisions of Central Railway as under –
MUMBAI DIVISION
A campaign was launched about use of bio-toilets and its benefits at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus station under Swachha Samwad by observing Covid-19protocols. A bio-toilet booth was also displayed at the station where the working of bio-toilets was shown by video clips, posters etc. Also video clips on pollution with use of plastic, Problems with single use of plastic, Awareness for Environment Pollution and Awareness to prevent spread of Covid-19 Virus etc were displayed on digital walls. Similar activities were also organized at all important stations of Mumbai Division.
NAGPUR DIVISION
Swachha Samwad activities were organized at all important stations in Nagpur Division. Passengers and the public were made aware of cleanliness at stations and railway premises through the public address system. In addition, interaction with the public about cleanliness held at important stations with main focus was to discourage spitting in public places.
PUNE DIVISION
Swachhata Rally and shramdan was organized at Kolhapur station and colony on Pune Division. Similar activities were also held at other important stations displaying slogans like ‘Plastic Hatav Paryavaran Bachav’ and ‘Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat’.
SOLAPUR DIVISION
A swachhata rally was organized at Solapur station to make the public aware about cleanliness. Also various cleanliness activities carried at other important stations and colonies on Solapur Division.
BHUSAWAL DIVISION
Swachh Samwad observed at important stations on Bhusawal Division by organizing various activities such as shramdan and dialogue with passengers to bring awareness about anti littering etc.
