FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN ON CENTRAL RAILWAY

Shri Sanjeev Mittal, General Manager, Central Railway launched the Fit India Freedom Run on 15th August 2020, on the occasion of the country’s 74th Independence Day Celebrations.


Fit India Freedom Run, under the aegis of Fit India Movement is an initiative of Hon’ble Prime Minister launched by The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India from 15th August to 2nd October 2020.


This concept has been conceived keeping in view the indispensable need to keep ourselves fit while maintaining social distancing. It is flexible in nature i.e one can run / walk along the route of his / her choice, at a convenient time and in a manner that suits him / her. The individual can also take breaks as per his / her convenience.


To ensure the physical and mental fitness of railway officers and staff and their families, this concept has been launched on a massive scale on Central Railway headquarters, Divisions and Workshops


Shri S P Vavre, President Central Railway Sports Association (CRSA) & Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, all Principal Head of the Departments, Divisional Railway Managers, Chief Workshop Managers, office bearers of CRSA, officers and staff extended their whole hearted support for the movement.


As on 19th August 2020, 487 members of Central Railway along with their families have successfully completed 1900 kms of running / walking thereby giving the movement a great start.


The number of employees joining the movement is increasing and Central Railway is positive that the Fit India Freedom Run will help the employees to improve their fitness and thereby fight off the corona disease in a more better way.
