Kerala Blasters Football Club (KBFC), one of the most popular teams in the Indian Super League (ISL), has appointed Varun Tripuraneni as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He has been involved with the ISL since its inception. Kerala Blasters was the runners-up in ISL 2016 and is jointly owned by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, megastar Chiranjeevi, superstar Nagarjuna, leading film producer - Allu Arvind and industrialist & entrepreneur Nimaggadda Prasad.
Varun was the Chief Operating Officer with Chennaiyin FC over the last two seasons including the season when they were crowned Champions of the ISL in 2015. This is Varun’s second stint with Kerala Blasters having served as the Head of Team Management in the inaugural year of the league.
Varun Tripuraneni has also served as the President of the Chennai Football Association for a brief period following his election as the youngest ever president to hold office. He has also been involved in a number of grassroots initiatives to develop football across the country.
Commenting on the appointment, Nimmagadda Prasad, co-owner of Kerala Blasters, said “Varun joining the leadership team will boost our efforts to improve key areas of operations including the technical and commercial aspects. We believe that his appointment will also enhance the intensity of our grassroots activities and the club’s youth development program.“

The 32 year old Chief Executive of Kerala Blasters, Varun Tripuraneni said, “It is a huge honour to lead Kerala Blasters. With an average stadium attendance of over 55,000 for the home matches in Kochi, Kerala Blasters have the most incredible and passionate fans in the country. To lead a club with such a large, loyal fan base and expectations is a huge challenge and responsibility. I am looking forward to leading the club in its next stage of development.“
