Designer Lalit Dalmia created magic on stage today as he launched a slew of new designs on the second day of India Beach Fashion Week and Festival 2017 powered by Jeep. The collection featured a strong element of drama as the show began with two models kissing on stage as part of a narrative that continued through the show.
The collection, titled La Moda, derives a robust vintage inspired theme from concept to creation with great attention to detail and the objective to create something that will stand the test of time.
The designs cater to individuals with a sense of style that stem from a penchant for vintage garments albeit with a modern interpretation. An array of colours like peach, plums, burgundy, pistachio, greens, navy blues, ivory black, beige and off-white are colors that took precedence through the showcase. A number of accessories like hats, fans and various vintage props were used during the show that added a unique theatric touch.
Commenting on his collection, Lalit Dalmia said, “The element of utility in very important when it comes to fashion. Meaningful style and a unique signature is essential. A style statement becomes a trend when it appeals to peoples sensibilities and inspires them to adopt that style. With this collection, I’ve placed emphasis on certain textiles with interesting texture and rich colours.”
The show ended with a surprise as Bollywood Popular Bollywood film producer Mohammed Morani walked down the ramp accompanied by his wife Lucky Morani as the showstoppers to Dalmia’s collection. The couple exchanged rings at the end of the show and even cut a cake celebrating their love for each other as well as their love for fashion.
The India Beach Fashion Week and Festival 2017 (IBFW) powered by Jeep will be held from March 6 to 8 at the Goa Marriott Resort and Spa, Miramar.
