MALAIKA ARORA RECREATES THE ‘CHAIYAAN CHAIYAAN’ MOMENT ON INDIA’S GOT TALENT SEASON 8

November 26, 2018

Along with the mindblowing talents, the camaraderie of the India’s Got Talent judges and their enthusiasm to share the stage with the participants has always been the highlight of the show. Recently one such moment occurred on the stage where Malaika Arora re-lived her Chaiyaan Chaiyaan days. A group of dancers called ‘Dolls of Orissa’ (group of three female dancers) from Orissa performed Bharatnatyam, on Malaika’s popular song Chaiyaan Chaiyaan. She was delighted to see their mesmerising performance. Post their performance, the girls requested Malaika to shake a leg with them on this iconic song. Without any hesitation, Malaika rushed to the stage and performed the signature steps of the song.

According to the sources on the set, Malaika enthusiastically joined the contestants and grooved to the song. Cherishing her memories from the shoot, Malaika  said “It was one of the iconic songs that has been shot in Bollywood because we were shooting on a moving train top, that too without any support or harness. . I was extremely nervous, but Farah Khan who choreographed the song,  told me to keep smiling  throughout.  The steps were also full of energy and Farah’s motivation just boosted my confidence. It was an amazing experience dancing on a moving train back then.”

Surprisingly Karan also made a revelation which many were not aware of.  Karan Johar added, “We were also shooting near the same location for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Post the shoot of song ‘Ye ladki badi anjani hai’ from my movie, Farah and Shahrukh rushed  to shoot for ‘Chaiya chaiyan’. I remember all of us met the same night including Mani Ratnam, and we discussed how this song is going to be historic for being shot on a moving train. And we were  not wrong as this song  still  has the power to make everyone step up and dance to it.”
