Central Railway has observed “Swachh Parisar”.i.e. clean premises as part of the 8th day of Swachhta Pakhawada being observed from 16.9.2020 to 30.9.2020. All Divisions of Central Railway focussed on intensive cleaning of workplace including railway offices, retiring rooms, dormitories, rest houses and station surrounding places keeping up with Covid-19 protocol. Along with cleanliness plantation and garden landscaping activities were also held.
MUMBAI DIVISION
In spite of the torrential and continuous rains that poured in the city the staff of Mumbai Division continued to observe swachhta pakhwada by carrying intensive cleaning of rail premises. The heavy water logging at Sion station was cleared and cleaning activities continued. At Thane station intensive cleaning activities included cleaning of all major railway offices assisted by staff present on duty. This was followed by station and platform cleaning where all the platform foot over bridges, plant stands at platforms, benches were intensively cleaned and sanitised. Similarly, cleaning and sanitisation of all offices were carried out at all major stations of Mumbai division.
PUNE DIVISION
Divisional Railway Manager, Pune inaugurated the plantation activities at the Medicinal Plant Udyan known as ‘Aushadiyaa Vanaspati Udyan’ in presence of Chief Medical Superintendent, Pune. The plantation programme was joined by other staff and their family members. Intensive cleaning of platforms and offices was done at Pune, Miraj and Kolhapur. All the areas of passenger interface were also cleaned and sanitised. Similar cleaning activities were also seen at other stations on the division.
NAGPUR DIVISION
Nagpur division did not leave any stone unturned in its contribution on the 8th consecutive day of Swachhata Pakhwada. The cleaning activities were carried out by commercial, engineering and station staff. DRM office staff volunteered in cleaning their respective offices. Thorough cleaning of waiting hall, retiring rooms etc at Sewagram, Ghoradhongri, Betul was done. Tree plantation was also organised at Hinganghat, Lingti, Warora station to name a few apart from Balharshah Coaching and Wagon Depot.
SOLAPUR DIVISION
Cleaning activities at Solapur began with distribution of sanitizers and masks to cleaning staff at Solapur. Waiting rooms and booking offices were thoroughly cleaned at Solapur, Sainagar Shirdi, Pandharpur and Ahmednagar stations. Areas of public interface were thoroughly sanitised. Carriage & Wagon staff of Solapur contributed by painting a train pulled by steam engine on the wall of DRM office compound.
BHUSAVAL DIVISION
The 8th day of Pakhwada saw mechanised cleaning activities at Bhusaval division especially at Bhusaval and Amravati station. Cleaning and sanitisation of all the public waiting corridors was done at other major stations like Nasik Road, Manmad, Shegaon and Akola. A tree plantation programme was organised at Amravati with due precautions of social distancing. Retiring rooms at Bhusaval and at Khandwa, booking offices were intensively cleaned and sanitised.
