Central Railway has observed “Swachh Station” as part of the 4th day of Swachhta Pakhawada being observed from 16.9.2020 to 30.9.2020. All Divisions of Central Railway focussed on intense cleaning activities of all core areas of stations including toilets, drains etc.
MUMBAI DIVISION
Intense cleaning activities carried at CSMT headquarters with focussed cleaning of suburban premises and platforms. Station staff including PRS and booking staff also involved themselves and actively participated in collecting and disposing garbage as well as cleaning of their respective lobbies on the premises.
PUNE DIVISION
Intense cleaning activities were carried out on the entire platform with all offices, cleaning of the waiting hall, dormitory and also the lobby of the booking office. The entry side of station premises was also thoroughly cleaned. PRS and booking supervisors engaged in cleaning their respective offices. Station staff also cleaned and swept the floors of their offices including Station Managers’ office. Toilets and washbasins were cleaned and sanitised.
NAGPUR DIVISION
Station cleaning staff at Nagpur involved themselves in cleaning of ceilings and floors of platforms thoroughly. Every nook and corner was broomed and cleaned and thereafter sanitised. Passengers were conversed with to make use of bottle crusher machines and avoid single use of Plastic.
SOLAPUR DIVISION
Along with the routine cleaning activities at Solapur cleaning staff undertook intensive cleaning of toilets at the waiting hall on the main public interface along with cleaning of entrance and exit lobbies. Sainagar Shirdi station was intensively cleaned and sanitised. At Ahmednagar station too staff engaged in assisting cleaning staff for cleanliness of their offices and platforms.
BHUSAVAL DIVISION
At Amravati station mechanised cleaning was done. RPF staff also assisted the shramdaan activities. Intense cleaning of toilets and urinals carried at Jalgaon and Shegaon including entire surrounding areas of the station. Passenger waiting corridors, benches were cleaned and sanitised.
